Where To Install Security Cameras

People have different goals when it comes to installing security cameras. Some people want to just scare intruders away. Others know the value of having security tapes available for investigation purposes.

One problem many people face is where to install their security cameras for maximum benefit. Let's take a look at a few key areas that will solve many of your security camera install location problems.
1. Security cameras should be installed in all entrance and exit locations. This presents the best chance for you to get a clear view of persons face. To get the best views your security camera should be set to get a picture of about 3 feet wide.

Placing a television monitor near an entrance can also help you capture a good facial picture. People's eyes are drawn to monitors which will help give you a clear image. They can also serve as a deterrent as people do not like to be photographed if they are an intruder.
2. Install security cameras at transaction points. Wherever a customer will be purchasing something such as a teller station or cash register is a good place to install one.
Install cameras about 7 high and looking directly into the area. Avoid installing them too high where the only picture you get is the top of their head.
3. To deter vandalism installing security cameras in secluded areas such as parking lots or alleys leading to your building. Intruders who see security cameras will be more likely to ignore your business.
4. Target areas such as safes, filing cabinets, or any area a thief may target is a good place to install a security camera. Set your camera's view at a wide image so you can use them for you evidence in case there is a crime.
In summary these are basic ideas to keep in mind for security camera install locations. Of course customize this based on your own personal business.
